 India Leads

India is presently a global healthcare innovation leader, a drug manufacturing hub, and a vaccine maker, Union Minister of State for Science & Technology Jitendra Singh stated at the Times Now Doctors Day Conclave 2025, presented by Lupin.

Emphasizing the role of the country in global healthcare, Singh said India has supplied more than 100 countries with vaccines through the Vaccine Maitri program. "In the days ahead, such collaborations will be instrumental in governing world health from India," he further asserted.

Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Anupriya Patel outlined the Centre's vision for healthcare in the long term under India@100 to create a strong, integrated, and technology-enabled ecosystem by 2047. "Our vision is accessible and affordable healthcare to all our citizens, and the National Health Policy is a paradigm shift from disease-specific interventions to a comprehensive integrated approach on the basis of universal health coverage. This repositions the definition of health and wellbeing, and aligns India's ambitions with international priorities," she said.
