Aster DM Healthcare is strengthening its presence in Bengaluru with a fresh investment aimed at expanding capacity and improving specialized care.
Aster DM Healthcare has invested INR 96 crore to expand its women and children’s facility at its Whitefield hospital in Bengaluru. The move will increase the hospital’s total bed capacity from 380 to 539, helping it meet rising demand for maternal and pediatric care in the city.
The expansion adds a dedicated 159-bed facility designed to provide end-to-end care, from preconception to childbirth and beyond.
It will include advanced services such as water birthing, laparoscopic gynecology, fetal medicine and surgery, and fertility treatment. The center will also house a Level 3A neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), pediatric intensive care unit, and high dependency unit to handle critical cases.

This development comes as demand for specialized healthcare for women and children continues to grow across urban India. “As demand for high-quality maternal and pediatric care grows, it is essential to scale both capacity and capabilities,” said Azad Moopen, Managing director of Aster DM.
The Whitefield expansion is part of Aster’s broader growth strategy in Karnataka. The company is also working on new hospitals in Yeshwantpur and Sarjapur, aiming to significantly increase its regional footprint and overall bed capacity in the state.
With this move, Aster DM Healthcare continues to invest in building specialized infrastructure, focusing on improving access to quality care for mothers and children while scaling up its operations in one of India’s fastest-growing healthcare markets.
