On June 25, 2025, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Telangana will hold a day-long conference, ‘Pillars of Protection – Forging a Safer Future for Pharma and Chemical Manufacturing’ in Hyderabad. The CII Telangana Pharma & Life Sciences Committee (2025–26) leads the conference to promote discussion and action on safety, compliance, and sustainability in the pharma and chemical sectors.

The conference will concentrate on several key components, including environmental, health and safety (EHS) best practices, regulatory compliance, risk mitigation and assessment, hazard control and management, and innovations in safe manufacturing systems. The conference is designed for EHS professionals, QA/QC and regulatory affairs professionals, plant heads, consultants, R&D teams, and government and policy influencers.

Participants will benefit from actionable insights from leading regulatory agencies, global safety experts, as well as leading industry experts. Interactive session solutions will address current industry problems and provide networking opportunities with decision makers from both the pharma and chemical spaces.

Speaking about this initiative, R Sivaprasad Reddy, Chairman, CII Telangana said, "Telangana is now becoming a leader in the production of pharma and chemicals and it is critical that we build safety into everything we do." This was echoed by Chakravarthi AVPS, Convener of the Committee when he talked about the importance of building safety into the design of life sciences manufacturing systems and how this is linked to digitalisation.

The CII committee is also focused on a broader agenda, which includes operational excellence, sustainability, technology adoption, MSME, and policy.
