Lupin Launches Subsidiary to Boost OTC and Self-Care Business

In a strategic shift to develop its position in India’s growing self-care and over-the-counter (OTC) market, Lupin Limited has formally separated its consumer healthcare division and formed a wholly owned subsidiary called LupinLife Consumer Healthcare (LCH), which is effective July 1, 2025.

The demerger is designed to provide operational focus and nimbleness to meet the rapidly changing demands of wellness-oriented Indian consumers. The new entity will still retain some of the company’s highest growth OTC brands, such as Softovac, Beplex Forte, Corcium, and Aptivate, which have all built traction with consumers since the vertical launched in 2017.

Anil Kaushal, who has played an essential role in developing the vertical, will lead the new entity as Chief Executive Officer and will look to expand, innovate and engage consumers in this segment and beyond.

Speaking on the development, Nilesh Gupta, managing director, Lupin said, "This strategic move reinforces our mission of developing high-impact businesses that drive sustained value. LCH exemplifies our unwavering dedication to patient-centric care and service to consumers.” "This carve-out marks an exciting new chapter in our consumer healthcare journey. We are committed to offering world-class OTC products and wellness solutions for Indian consumers. LCH is well-positioned to scale with agility, innovate with intent, and expand access to wellness solutions across India,” said Kaushal.
