Natureoroma, based in Ramanagaram in the south of Bengaluru, has made Squacare, a gel for the mouth, made to help folks with oral submucous fibrosis (OSMF). This is a bad, long-lasting health issue tied to chewing items like arecanut and gutkha.
OSMF is common in India and South-East Asia, and leads to swelling and hardening in the mouth, pain, and a smaller mouth gap. If not cared for, it can turn into mouth cancer.
Squacare, made from 12 healing herbs, showed it was safe and works well in a big study at M R Ambedkar Dental College and Hospital, Bengaluru. This study, led by Dr. G Roopashri, saw big gains in easing pain, making the mouth softer, and widening the mouth opening.
Following its initial appearance at a major cancer conference, Squacare will be available for sale in December 2025 through Group Pharmaceuticals.

H. Srinivas, Director, Natureoroma and former Deputy Drugs Controller of Karnataka, said Squacare is a safe, easy treatment. People use it on their mouth twice a day and do some exercises. It has bakula, nirgundi, ashwagandha, tulsi, and punarnava - all known for easing swelling and mending.
Sunil Attavar, Chairman, Group Pharmaceuticals, described Squacare as a big step in handling OSMF, with strong scientific proof and a patent coming. The team said the clinical trials went very well and it should help many in India and beyond.
