Pharmexcil Appoints Advisors to Strengthen Export Regulatory Support, India Pharma Outlook

Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India (Pharmexcil) has assigned two honorary advisors to provide assistance to export pharmaceutical producers with regulatory issues surrounding Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) permitting and other matters, Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Customs.

The program, some might say relief, was organized by Pharmexcil and the chairman, Namit Joshi and vice chairman, Bhavin Mehta chair the project and claimed it will ensure an even stronger compliance support system with a supply chain focus. The effort is the response of Pharmexcil and its membership to the continuing challenges many exporters face in documentation, taxes, and cost of doing business surrounding compliance.

Mihir Shah has been appointed as the advisor for FTP and DGFT, while T. Chakrapani will be advisor for GST and Customs. Questions can be sent to the advisors by email and use a clear and appropriate subject line. Response can be expected within 24 to 48 hours with the response speed depending on the complexity of the question.

Mihir Shah provides consultancy in FTP, GST, FEMA, RBI, and Customs and has training in international business including export setup, trade incentives and compliance frameworks.

T. Chakrapani has vast experience in indirect taxation, with a career spanning more than 35 years, which included the position of Superintendent in the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs.

Pharmexcil Director General K. Raja Bhanu stated that this would provide regulatory clarity and exporters would be less prone to delays, arising from procedural delays or compliance errors.
