The origins of Aastrinz Life Sciences can be traced to a practical problem its founders observed within the pharmaceutical industry. With experience in pharmaceutical procurement and laboratory quality products, including HPLC columns and consumables, the founding team saw laboratories depending considerably on international chromatography brands. Customers could encounter cost pressures, long delivery timelines and limited technical assistance once a product had been supplied.

Amit Wadhwa has been an important part of the company’s founding journey and has contributed to the foundation and growth of Aastrinz Life Sciences. The company was conceived to address market gaps through a focused chromatography proposition backed by accessible technical expertise and closer customer engagement.

Building credibility in a technically demanding segment was essential. Pharmaceutical QC and R&D laboratories are understandably cautious when adopting new chromatography products because consistency and reproducibility directly affect analytical outcomes.

“Aastrinz addressed this barrier by allowing customers to evaluate trial columns and by developing an in-house laboratory capability in Hyderabad. Where required, customers can provide samples for evaluation, enabling the company to conduct testing and share relevant HPLC and chromatographic results”, shares Rajasekhar Reddy, Managing Director.

For an HPLC column, performance is ultimately measured by what happens repeatedly inside the laboratory. A column must deliver dependable separation, consistent peak characteristics and reproducibility across analytical runs.

PURSIL HPLC Columns are manufactured under the technical guidance of G. Rambabu, whose manufacturing and technical expertise supports the development of the column portfolio. Aastrinz places emphasis on silica quality, consistency and application suitability while continuing to expand PURSIL for different analytical requirements.

Its R&D efforts have resulted in offerings across multiple column categories and chemistries, including general-purpose and phenyl segments. An important development within the portfolio is CoroShield Technology (CST), which forms part of Aastrinz’s efforts to expand PURSIL through specialized column technologies for evolving analytical requirements.

The company’s chromatography strategy extends beyond columns. Sample preparation can substantially affect analytical reliability, as contaminants and particulates entering an HPLC system may influence results and compromise columns and other system components.

“Aastrinz consequently considers syringe filtration an integral part of its chromatography proposition. Our syringe filter portfolio is designed to support cleaner sample preparation, system protection and analytical reliability, with the company focusing on features including multi-layer filtration and supporting quality documentation”, shares Aryan Batra.

Other complementary categories include filtration products, safety caps and solvent-management solutions. The objective is to progressively create a connected portfolio around chromatography rather than become a general-purpose supplier across unrelated laboratory categories.
