Globally, the nutraceutical market stands at approximately $700 billion as of 2024, growing at a steady rate of 8-9 percent annually. While the global market is more developed and grows at a steadier pace, the Indian market is experiencing exponential growth, increasing from $4 billion in 2017 to an anticipated $18 billion by next year. This surge is largely driven by a growing consumer focus on health-promoting diets and preventive healthcare. In terms of developments, innovation has been a key driver in the supplement industry, with new dosage forms emerging, and a strong trend toward personalized product development. Brands are increasingly focusing on tailored supplements that meet individual needs. Sustainability has also become a major focus, with eco-friendly practices and packaging becoming industry standards, as brands aim to reduce their environmental impact. With the ability to understand and adapt to industry trends, such as consumer awareness and the rise of personalized healthcare, Essenzaa Nutrition has positioned itself well to capitalize on the ongoing growth of the nutraceutical industry.

R&D Driven Excellence

Essenzaa Nutrition is a herbal and nutraceutical contract manufacturer with a strong R&D and regulatory affairs capability, focussing on research and quality. “We have patents approved in the U.S., India, and China, and are one of the earliest in India to secure the U.S. FDA approval under 21 CFR Part 111”, says Dr. Kunal Shah, Founder at Essenzaa Nutrition. The company’s rigorous quality control measures, including third-party testing from NABL-approved laboratories and in-house testing of raw materials and finished products, guarantee that customers receive only the highest quality products. “We are a one stop shop for all the supplement needs with presence in 30 countries, endorsed by 5000+ doctors, 350 ready formulations and one million hours in R&D and counting”, he adds.

Research and development remain a key strength of Essenzaa Nutrition. The company was initially founded as an R&D-focused organization, and this expertise remains at the core of its operations. With a strong team of doctors, nutritionists, and scholars, it continues to push the boundaries of product development in the nutraceutical and Ayurvedic sectors. The collaborative R&D efforts with government bodies and institutes have led to the successful patenting of products across three major markets, further validating its innovative approach.

Regulatory Affairs Department

To meet the demands of the evolving market, Essenzaa Nutrition has implemented several practical measures within its contract manufacturing operations. It boasts of an ultra modern manufacturing facility with fully automatic cGMP machineries, clean room environment with AHU with HEPA Filters, epoxy floors, in-house laboratory and a strong QA/QC Department. A dedicated in-house Regulatory Affairs Department ensures full compliance with the regulatory guidelines of each country it exports to. The department also aids clients in documentation, labeling, and product registration processes, making the company a one-stop shop for all their manufacturing needs. Its capabilities span product research, formulation, testing, packaging development, regulatory compliance, and more. This comprehensive approach means clients can focus solely on marketing while the company handles everything from ideation to final product dispatch.

Lifecycle Product Support Solutions

By offering a full range of services, from ideation to product distribution, it ensures that clients’ needs are met at every stage of the product life cycle. The company goes a step further by distributing products directly to clients’ warehouses, whether located in-house or through third-party logistics (3PL) providers. In addition, Essenzaa Nutrition splits goods and distributes them to separate locations, enabling clients to focus solely on marketing their products, while it takes care of all technical aspects.

A key strength of the company lies in its dedicated Client Servicing team, which remains in constant communication with clients to understand their challenges and pain points. This proactive approach allows the team to evolve and adapt, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products and solving practical issues. For instance, when a client faced difficulties with distributors unwilling to spend time shipping smaller quantities to retail, the company devised a solution by creating smaller 12-piece shippers within larger packages. This change resulted in a significant boost in sales for the client.

Efficient Issue Escalation System

One strategy that it follows to ensure customer satisfaction is holding regular meetings with all customers, at least once a week. To facilitate easy communication, the company has established WhatsApp groups for each customer, connecting the entire customer segment hierarchy. These groups are strictly strategic, focusing only on success, challenges, and future growth. The presence of both the client’s and the company’s directors in these groups allows for lateral escalation, enabling direct intervention when the team is unable to resolve a problem. This setup speeds up the response time, reducing the turnaround time (TAT) for addressing customer issues. Key departments are also part of these groups, allowing them to take swift action when necessary.

In addition, Essenzaa Nutrition has a dedicated Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) department, consisting of a team of four people. While they assist with operations when there are no complaints, their primary responsibility is to handle customer feedback and complaints. When activated, the CAPA team works to resolve issues promptly and implements policies to prevent similar problems in the future. They track complaints and ensure corrective actions are taken, reducing the likelihood of recurring errors. This structured approach to feedback management plays a critical role in maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

As Essenzaa Nutrition looks to the future, its strong focus on R&D, regulatory compliance, and client-centric solutions positions it as a leading force in the nutraceutical contract manufacturing segment. Its goal is clear: to continue expanding its global reach while maintaining the highest standards of quality and innovation.
