Medical consumables are essential for ensuring the safety of individuals within healthcare settings. High-quality products help prevent infections, reduce the transmission of pathogens, and maintain a hygienic environment thereby safeguarding both patients and healthcare workers. Thus, reliable medical consumables are integral to delivering effective medical treatments and procedures. Healthcare providers seek reputable companies they can trust for high-quality medical consumables and Kolkata-based Hi Care Remedy is committed to helping such institutions.

Founded in 1990, Hi Care Remedy is a sustainable medical equipment manufacturing company that provides the highest standard of medical consumables and personal protective equipment (PPE). One of the firm's primary focuses is to protect the interface between healthcare practitioners and patients, safeguarding both parties from infection and cross-contamination. As technology has advanced over the past few decades, the company also focuses on protecting the interface between patients and medical technology, such as ultrasound and laparoscopic equipment. “We are a complete B2B business dedicated to creating sustainable products that improve healthcare outcomes for patients and healthcare practitioners”, says Prasenjit Guha, Group COO and Board Member of Hi Care Remedy.

Hi Care Remedy offers a wide range of quality products including HANDCARE medical examination gloves, aprons, drape sheets, ultrasound covers, laparoscopy covers, shoe covers, and even critical pieces of equipment, serving healthcare institutions such as clinics, medical centers, and hospitals. Facilitated by its integrated state-of-the-art design, manufacturing, and logistics facility located in Kolkata, the company consistently produces innovative products manufactured and designed with sustainability at its heart.

Interestingly, during the pandemic, when the entire industry was facing logistical challenges and related issues, Hi Care Remedy stood out as the only medical consumables and PPE company to maintain consistent pricing throughout 2020 to 2022. The company provided stability and reliability to its customers during the unprecedented period. Not only that, the firm, unlike its peers, witnessed significant growth in both revenue and margins post-pandemic, showcasing its resilience and steadfastness.

Setting the Benchmark for Quality & Innovation in Medical Consumables

Hi Care Remedy, is widely recognized for its exceptional quality of products, establishing the company as a leading manufacturer in the country. Since the late nineties, the firm has been certified by ISO 9001 and later transitioned to ISO 13485 which is the international standard for quality systems in this industry. The company is diligent in closely adhering to the ISO standards in place and often exceeds them in many cases. Over the past two years, the firm has expanded its export reach to over 20 countries in the European Union, concurrently enhancing its quality systems to meet the stringent standards of medical devices in the region. Moreover, the company has been proactively adopting Oxo-biodegradable products since 2018 and has been investing in this technology despite being an MSME unit.

Today, around 70 percent of the company products including gloves, and ultrasound probes are Oxo-biodegradable. Looking ahead, the firm aims to achieve a vision of producing 100 percent oxo-biodegradable or even compostable products within the next 18 months. “We have a continuous improvement approach towards quality, and we are one of the frontrunners as far as the sustainability journey is concerned”, adds Prasenjit Guha.

The company offers over 30 products and continuously introduces new and innovative products every quarter. Thanks to its integrated design, manufacturing, and warehouse facility in Kolkata, the firm has been consistent in manufacturing best-in-class products that are accepted worldwide. Hi Care Remedy always stays abreast of the latest advancements in the landscape and has been incorporating automation into its workflow for over the past two decades. The technology has been employed not only in production but also in the quality control processes.

Nurturing Partnerships & Delivering Healthcare Excellence

Known for its dedication to excellence and reliability, the company maintains the same high standard of quality for its products in both domestic and international markets. This approach has largely helped the firm in building solid partnerships with its customers for over three decades. “One of our enduring strengths is our extensive distribution network, which spans 250 cities and towns all over India. Our distributors are our partners, in the truest sense of the term", Prasenjit Guha chimes in. Consistent reliability and quality have made Hi Care Remedy a key player in the industry, resulting in no distributor ever leaving the firm since its inception. In addition to distribution, the company does private label manufacturing and serves as a partner of choice for many top equipment manufacturers in the marketplace.

At the same time, the Hi Care Remedy team proactively visits hospitals and clinics to interact with doctors and nurses and understands the issues they face while using company products. These insights and valuable feedback are considered during the development process to continually improve the product quality.

Hi Care Remedy, is one of the companies that have taken a pledge for the government of India’s Lean MSME scheme and to align with the United Nations' development goals, specifically Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being. In addition, the company runs campaigns as part of the 'HealthForAll' initiative across India to commemorate World Immunization Week and highlight the remarkable impact of vaccines on lives.

Therefore, the company will be upgrading its products and designs with a focus on the sustainability, user-experience, and safety. Over the next two years, the firm intends to introduce several first-of-a-kind and niche products, especially in ultrasonography, biopsy and laparoscopy, and expand its manufacturing facility by 30,000 square feet. In the coming years, Hi Care Remedy aspires to go public and scale up production, manufacture world-class products, and achieve sustainability goals while maintaining a trajectory of upward growth.
