Pharmaceutical laboratories operate in an environment where precision is inseparable from productivity. From volumetric glassware used in routine quality control to filtration products, chromatography consumables and specialised analytical accessories, laboratories depend on products that perform consistently and arrive when required.

As analytical practices become more sophisticated, suppliers are consequently expected to understand applications, specifications and procurement challenges rather than merely provide an extensive catalogue.

SUNSYN Analyticals is building its position around this requirement. Established in 2018, the company supplies pharmaceutical, research and educational institutions with precision laboratory glassware, plasticware, PMP ware for ICP/IC analysis, filter papers, syringe filters, benchtop instruments, syringes, HPLC/GC columns and accessories, general consumables and impurity standards. Alongside its domestic presence, the company has developed an expanding export business, particularly in laboratory glassware.

Driving this growth is Govardhan Reddy Jaggavarapu, Partner, whose career combines hands-on pharmaceutical Quality Control experience with laboratory product marketing. A B.Sc. graduate, Govardhan worked with Hetero Pharmaceuticals, Smruthi Organics and Piramal Healthcare before moving into marketing with Borosil Glass Works.

This progression from using laboratory products to understanding their commercial requirements has given him a practical perspective on what customers expect from a supplier.

A Portfolio Shaped at the QC Bench

SUNSYN’s product portfolio has been built around the realities of pharmaceutical laboratories. Govardhan’s earlier experience in Quality Control exposed him directly to glassware, analytical instruments and consumables used in everyday laboratory workflows. His subsequent experience in marketing helped him understand the other side of the equation - product availability, customer expectations and supplier relationships.

“My experience in both Quality Control and marketing helps me understand products from the laboratory user’s perspective. I have worked with many of these glassware products, instruments and consumables myself, so understanding customer requirements comes naturally”, says Govardhan Reddy Jaggavarapu, Partner.

This background allows the company to engage with customers beyond catalogue-based selling. Its network of pharmaceutical professionals, former colleagues and customers also provides continuous visibility into changing laboratory requirements.

SUNSYN sees particular value in identifying modifications that can improve usability. Laboratories sometimes continue using the same product configuration for years, even when relatively minor changes could simplify an application. The company therefore works with customers to identify customised glassware and related products where appropriate.

SUNSYN has consequently focused on developing packaging and shipment practices aimed at minimizing breakage across longdistance deliveries

Selecting for Reliability, Not Just Range

As a trading and distribution company rather than a manufacturer, SUNSYN takes a clear position on its role in the quality chain. Its responsibility is to identify manufacturers and products that demonstrate reliability, appropriate quality and sustained acceptance among laboratory users.

Customer experience is an important part of this selection process. Instead of claiming manufacturing control, SUNSYN evaluates how particular makes and products perform in the market and whether customers continue to accept them for their intended applications.

This approach is especially relevant across a portfolio ranging from laboratory glassware and filtration products to chromatography accessories and specialised consumables. By combining product familiarity with customer feedback, the company seeks to match laboratory requirements with dependable solutions.

“Our focus is on supplying products that have demonstrated good market acceptance and reliability. Ultimately, the product has to work appropriately for the customer’s application, and that remains central to our selection”, Govardhan explains.

Building an Export Model Around Execution

SUNSYN entered the export market in 2019, with the U.S. emerging as an important destination. According to the company, based on EXIM trade data, SUNSYN Analyticals ranks as the third-largest exporter of laboratory glassware from India to the U.S. Behind that achievement lies a demanding logistics operation.

Glassware is inherently vulnerable during transportation, making packaging a critical part of international fulfilment. The firm has consequently focused on developing packaging and shipment practices aimed at minimising breakage across long-distance deliveries.

The company also manages DDP shipments, supporting movement from its end through to the customer’s location. International fulfilment can involve customs procedures, documentation requirements and occasional examination of shipments by U.S. FDA authorities. When questions arise or consignments are held, SUNSYN’s team coordinates responses and provides the necessary information to facilitate clearance.

For day-to-day operations, the company maintains controlled inventory levels and uses software for stock visibility, invoicing and business records. Technology is employed selectively, with the objective of keeping procurement and fulfilment straightforward and dependable.

Creating a Wider International Footprint

International expansion now forms the centrepiece of SUNSYN’s next growth phase. The company has established entities in the UK and the U.S. and is conducting business across markets including Australia, Ireland, the UK and the U.S. It is also exploring opportunities across the Middle East and Europe, with Saudi Arabia and Germany among its priorities.

Portfolio expansion will accompany this geographical growth. Beyond laboratory glassware and consumables, the firm intends to strengthen its presence in chemicals and pharmaceutical excipients, opening another avenue within pharmaceutical manufacturing supply chains.

“Our vision is to establish SUNSYN across the major pharmaceutical markets of the world. Along with expanding geographically, we want to broaden our portfolio into chemicals and excipients while continuing to strengthen the service and reliability our customers expect,” concludes Govardhan.

For SUNSYN, therefore, global expansion is not a departure from its original proposition but an extension of it: applying laboratory understanding, careful product selection and hands-on execution to serve a progressively wider pharmaceutical customer base.
