Roche has reaffirmed its full-year guidance, keeping Roche's Growth Story alive despite Vabysmo slowdown sales and ongoing currency headwinds.
The Swiss drugmaker said its broader drug portfolio and continued demand for newer medicines will support growth through 2026.
The company believes its overall business remains strong, even as one of its key products missed market expectations.
The latest financial update showed that Vabysmo sales were below analyst estimates. However, Roche chose not to change its full-year forecast. The company expects both sales and core earnings to grow at a constant exchange rate, reflecting confidence in its wider pharmaceutical business.
Roche’s Chief Executive Officer, Thomas Schinecker said, "Should be a zero effect in terms of currencies in the second half of the year.
Roche said foreign exchange movements continued to affect reported revenue. A stronger Swiss franc reduced the value of international sales after currency conversion. Despite this challenge, the company maintained its financial outlook for the year.
Management expects steady growth across both its pharmaceutical and diagnostics businesses. Strong demand for recently launched medicines continues to support overall performance. Roche also expects several products to contribute more meaningfully during the second half of the year.

Vabysmo remains one of Roche's most important products for treating serious eye diseases. Investors have closely followed its performance because it is expected to drive future pharmaceutical growth. The latest quarterly results, however, showed slower-than-expected sales. The weaker performance sparked fresh concerns about how quickly the medicine can expand its market share.
Despite the miss, Roche remains optimistic about Vabysmo's long-term potential. The company believes continued adoption across more patients and markets will strengthen future sales.
Roche said its diversified product portfolio helped offset the weaker Vabysmo performance. Growth from other medicines continued to support overall business results during the reporting period. The company also remains focused on research, innovation, and new product launches. These investments are expected to strengthen its competitive position over the coming years.
While exchange rate pressure remains a challenge, Roche believes its broad portfolio and innovation pipeline will continue supporting long-term growth. The company sees no reason to change its financial outlook despite near-term market pressure.
