Healthium Medtech along with the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP) has announced the very first group of the C-CAMP Healthium Innovations Programme for the Surgical Interventions and Medical Technologies Field.
The program is a part of Healthium CSR activities and is aimed at nurturing deep-science, digitally enabled innovations that are affordable, scalable and clinically impactful.
In the surgical intervention area that is undergoing a quick change, but on the other hand, most surgeries in India are still limited by high prices and accessibility problems, the programme, in its first year, will concentrate on these aspects.
While many advanced hospitals in cities are busy with the latest usage of surgical tools, tier two and tier three cities are remaining far behind in this regard. This is because of the high cost of imported solutions and the lack of infrastructure and trained personnel.
The partnership combines the best of both worlds. Apart from the six global-standard manufacturing facilities and over 85 patents scattered across India, the US, and Europe, Healthium Medtech’s expertise in surgical and post-surgical technologies.

C-CAMP, which is funded by the Department of Biotechnology, has created one of the most extensive ecosystems for life science innovation in India, having nurtured over 550 deep-tech start-ups.
The first cohort has start-ups such as BrainSight AI, Nesa Medtech, Cartosense, Shira Medtech, Samaritan AI, Quixotix, Roots to Cusps, and Healyantra working in fields from neurology and urology to AI-enabled surgical planning and diagnostic imaging.
During the next nine months, the selected start-ups will get a structured mentorship, incubation support, and access to clinical and industry expertise. The two organisations’ leaders clearly stated that the initiative will not only help convert the research into impactful solutions but also make it easier for India’s medtech ecosystem to be present globally.
