HN Reliance Launches Fastest AI 3D Mammography in South Asia

In a significant advancement for women's health, Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital in Mumbai has now launched South Asia's first and fastest Genius AI 3D Mammography system, transforming breast cancer screening with AI-enabled diagnosis and advanced imaging.

A scan using tomosynthesis will be completed in as little as 3.7 seconds, minimizing the discomfort for patients while improving the accuracy of the diagnosis.

Breast cancer is a major cancer in Indian women, with 192,000 cases of breast cancer newly diagnosed in a year, most at a late stage due to lack of early screening. The Genius AI 3D will provide solutions at every level of population indication with 65% improved detection for invasive cancers, 45% reduction in radiation dose, and improved quality of 3D imaging. All of this will lead to a faster, more accurate diagnosis and fewer return appointments.

The machine was designed with the patient experience in mind, with benefits for women with dense breast tissue, implants, or claustrophobic individuals. The machine facilitates additional advanced procedures including contrast-enhanced spectral mammography and optional vacuum assisted biopsies, which can streamline the diagnostic procedure.

Dr. Ashutosh Kothari stated that this advanced technology will identify breast cancer at an early sub-clinical detection stage that will improve the quality of care. Dr. Tarang Gianchandani added that the innovation will begin closing access gaps and provide world-class screening to Indian women.
