IISc and Wipro GE Healthcare Partner for MedTech Innovation

Wipro GE Healthcare,aglobal healthcare technology specialist, developer and provider of digital solutions, has signeda memorandum of understanding (MOU) with India's premier research institute, the Indian Institute of Science(IISc), for pioneering collaboration toadvance the health and research.

Technological Development in India. The collaboration aim stotake acomprehensive  approach to market launch focusing on the entire lifecycle, including joint solution development, technical validation and regional manufacturing. With the recent opening of the Bagchi-Parthasarathy Hospital and the IISc College of Medicine, this strategic partnership will enable the transfer of technology from the floor to the bedside.

According to a 2018 World Health Organization (WHO) report, "Globally, noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) account for 71% of all deaths. In India, 63% of all NCD deaths, cancer is one of the leading causes (9).This academic-industrial project aims to promote innovation and creation of MedTech products to meet the needs of global and local patients suffering from NCDs, including cancercancer and neurology, under the slogan "Atmanirbhar Bharat". 

This cooperation includes joint development projects in the fields of basic and applied sciences, systems engineering, product and software  development, communication, publishing, academic research, education, scholarship and training. IISc and GE Healthcare will form a joint committee with representatives from both parties to study product development and solutions. .
