By introducing the Virtual Simulation-based Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Training Program, which is exclusive for pharmacy students, the Karnataka State Pharmacy Council (KSPC) has made a major advancement in pharmacy education. This immersive training is a first for any State Pharmacy Council in the nation, powered by cutting-edge 2D and 3D Virtual Reality (VR) and Extended Reality (XR) technologies.

Karnataka Health and Family Welfare Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao served as the program's chief guest at the KSPC Skill Development Center. Commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of Karnataka and Administrator of the KSPC, Srinivas K, were also in attendance as honorary guests.

This cutting-edge training module offers a realistic, yet virtual, experience of key pharma manufacturing processes, such as drug formulation, packaging, quality control, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) compliance. The effort bridges the gap between real-time industry practices and academic learning by merging 2D and 3D simulation platforms. Along with providing students with a secure and engaging learning environment, the curriculum places a strong emphasis on equipment management, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and regulatory compliance. Under this program, training has begun for the first group of 30 students from the Government College of Pharmacy, Bengaluru.
