Lupin Limited has launched Formoflo-G MDI, a fixed-dose triple-combination metered-dose inhaler for COPD treatment in India.
The launch, announced on October 6, 2026, expands the company’s respiratory care portfolio and adds another treatment option for patients managing chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
The Formoflo-G MDI combines three active ingredients: Glycopyrronium Bromide, Formoterol Fumarate, and Fluticasone Propionate. The inhaler is designed for the long-term management of moderate to severe COPD and is available as a twice-daily, single-strength fixed-dose combination.
The launch follows approval from the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI). The regulatory clearance allows Lupin to introduce the triple-combination inhaler as part of its respiratory disease portfolio.
COPD is a chronic respiratory condition that can cause breathing difficulties and significantly affect quality of life. According to Lupin, the disease affects more than 5.5 crore people in India and remains a leading cause of death and disability in the country.
The company said the new inhaler is aimed at addressing unmet patient needs through differentiated and high-quality therapies. COPD treatment often requires long-term disease management, making access to appropriate inhaled therapies important for patients and healthcare professionals.
Nilesh Gupta, Managing Director, Lupin, said the launch reflects the company’s focus on addressing unmet needs in respiratory care. He added that Lupin aims to improve outcomes for patients living with respiratory diseases.

The Formoflo-G MDI also strengthens Lupin’s position in India’s respiratory therapy segment. According to IQVIA MAT March 2026 data, Lupin holds the second position in the respiratory therapy segment in India.
Rajeev Sibal, President – India Region Formulations, Lupin, said the new MDI strengthens the company’s respiratory portfolio. He added that it provides healthcare professionals with an important option for appropriate COPD patients.
With the launch, Lupin plans to continue strengthening its presence in respiratory care. The company’s focus on combination inhalers also comes as COPD continues to place a significant health burden on patients in India.
The triple-combination approach brings Glycopyrronium Bromide, Formoterol Fumarate, and Fluticasone Propionate into a single inhaler. This makes Formoflo-G MDI a notable addition to Lupin’s respiratory portfolio for long-term management of moderate to severe COPD.
For patients and healthcare professionals, the launch adds another option to the available COPD treatment landscape in India. Lupin said it will continue working toward expanding access to high-quality therapies for respiratory diseases.
