NEXUS 2026 Brings Food and Pharma Experts Together to Explore Next Generation Analytical Technologies
Industry experts and technology specialists explore drug development, regulatory readiness, food processing, rheology and product characterisation at Day One in Navi Mumbai
Anton Paar India hosted the first day of NEXUS 2026 at Ramada by Wyndham, Navi Mumbai, bringing together leading experts, scientists, researchers and industry professionals from the pharmaceutical and food sectors for discussions on how advanced analytical technologies can address evolving challenges in product development, quality, regulatory compliance and manufacturing.
The two-day industry forum, being held under the theme “Industry Insights. Technology. Experience.”, combines expert-led sessions with live demonstrations of analytical and measurement technologies.
Nitin Prabhakar, Managing Director, Anton Paar India, said “NEXUS is designed to take analytical science beyond theoretical discussions and connect it directly with the challenges faced by industry. The first day demonstrated the value of bringing pharmaceutical and food experts together with application specialists and live technologies on one platform. From understanding the structure of pharmaceutical materials and improving regulatory preparedness to analysing food texture, flow and processing behaviour, the discussions highlighted how the right measurements can support better decisions across the product lifecycle.
The pharmaceutical sessions brought together perspectives from drug development, formulation, analytical research and regulated laboratory environments. Dr. Benedikt Schrode, Global Product Manager – X-ray Diffraction, Anton Paar GmbH, discussed how X-ray diffraction can provide insights into APIs and pharmaceutical materials, while Dr. Vaibhav Dubey, Senior General Manager, Sun Pharma, highlighted the growing importance of understanding particles, interfaces and stability in next-generation drug delivery systems. Dr. Amit Gosar, Vice President – Analytical Research, Indoco Remedies, addressed the changing regulatory landscape, including trace-level impurities, nitrosamines, NDSRIs, elemental impurities and advanced solid-state characterisation.

The programme also explored how laboratories can move beyond compliance towards greater confidence in analytical processes. Jörg Bämpfer, Global Product Manager, Anton Paar GmbH, shared insights into data integrity, traceability, qualification, digital data management and integrated laboratory workflows. The food-focused sessions then shifted attention to the relationship between raw materials, processing behaviour, structure and finished-product quality, with Prof. Dr. Narpinder Singh, Vice Chancellor, Graphic Era (Deemed to be University), discussing rheological characterisation and extrusion technology, and Dr. Suresh Sakhare, Scientist G, CSIR-CFTRI, Mysuru, examining flour, dough and starch behaviour for improved food products.
Dr Nitin further added “Food science is increasingly moving towards a deeper understanding of what happens between raw material and consumer experience. The sessions by Prof. Dr. Narpinder Singh and Dr. Suresh Sakhare showed how rheology, starch behaviour, dough characteristics and processing conditions can influence consistency and product quality. Dr. Banu Sezer’s session further connected particle size, viscosity, rheology, texture, crystallisation and other measurements with practical considerations such as processing, stability and consumer acceptance.”
A key highlight of Day One was the NEXUS Technology Expo, where participants experienced live demonstrations of Anton Paar’s analytical and measurement technologies and interacted with application specialists. The showcase covered rheology and viscometry, density and concentration, particle characterisation, surface and material characterisation, FTIR and Raman spectroscopy, X-ray analysis, microwave sample preparation, true density, flash point and petroleum testing, process measurement and laboratory automation.
The day concluded with participants gaining practical insights into how complementary analytical techniques can be integrated into measurement workflows. With the second day of NEXUS 2026 continuing on October 8, the platform will further bring industry perspectives and analytical technologies together, reinforcing Anton Paar India’s focus on enabling industries to better understand materials, optimise processes and make informed technology-driven decisions.
