Schneider Electric, the global specialist in digital energy management and automation, has partnered with Apollo Hospitals, Asia's broadest integrated healthcare provider, to boost energy reliability at Apollo Proton Cancer Centre (APCC) in Chennai.

As part of the initiative, Schneider Electric has installed state-of-the-art energy monitoring and power quality solutions, establishing new standards of sustainability and reliability into healthcare.

As part of Schneider Electric's strategic investment at APCC, it installed PowerLogic ION9000 power quality meters and provided its EcoStruxure Power Monitoring Expert software to provide constant information about APCC's energy situation. This technology keeps crucial medical devices powered, including proton beam therapy systems where power quality, reliability, and uptime are fundamental to patient care.

The newly installed smart power infrastructure will not only deliver power and energy as expected but also aims to reduce the number of unplanned outages, improve diagnostics, and even reduce energy costs over time, by up to 30 percent efficiency improvement. Stratford believed this efficiency will allow Apollo Hospitals to maintain reliability in providing cancer care without sacrificing operational efficiency or sustainability.

To highlight the impact, Nikhil Pathak, VP – Digital Energy and Power Products, Schneider Electric noted that the collaboration emphasizes how an intelligent energy system supports life-saving healthcare delivery.

Harshad Reddy, Director – Group Oncology & International, Apollo Hospitals, added that Schneider's connected technologies have enhanced reliability in mission-critical areas, specifically in the Proton Therapy unit, while uplifting healthcare systems for the future.

This presents the partnership establishing Apollo Proton Cancer Centre as a case for energy management for sustainable, resilient, and future-ready healthcare in India.
