This proposed investment by one of India's largest pharma giants is expected to catalyze infrastructure and employment development opportunities, primarily in Indore and Bhopal, where several industrial activities are emerging. The expansion of Sun Pharma is consistent with national efforts to develop local manufacturing and reduce reliance on imports. This growth will support drug supply chains for essential medicines. With the respect for Indian manufacturing, the sector hopes to remain important in a post pandemic world. The investment represents increasing confidence in the policy environment and increased facilitation at the state level to support pharmaceutical development. We should see detailed rollout of projects and hiring in the coming months.
