The in-vitro diagnostics (IVD) industry is undergoing a fundamental transformation as healthcare systems worldwide move towards faster, more accessible, and decentralized testing. From hospitals and diagnostic laboratories to emergency care units and community healthcare settings, the demand for rapid and reliable diagnostic solutions has never been greater.

Point-of-Care Testing (POCT), automation, and integrated diagnostic platforms are redefining how healthcare providers diagnose and treat patients, reducing turnaround times and enabling quicker clinical decisions.

As this evolution reshapes the diagnostics landscape, POCT Equipments has emerged as a trusted partner within the IVD ecosystem. The company serves hospitals, laboratories, healthcare institutions, government organizations, and global partners through a comprehensive portfolio of diagnostic products and solutions.

However, POCT Equipments is more than a supplier of diagnostic equipment. Its foundation is built upon a clear vision: bringing quality diagnostics closer to patients and enabling healthcare professionals to make faster, more informed decisions. This philosophy, shaped by the industry experience of Managing Director Sameer Shah and strengthened by the strategic leadership of Executive Director Dr Smeet Shah, continues to guide the company's growth and future ambitions.

Why POCT Equipments Was Born

The story of POCT Equipments begins with the professional journey of Sameer Shah, a diagnostics industry veteran with more than three decades of experience in healthcare. Before establishing the company in 2019, Sameer Shah spent nearly twenty years with Abbott Point of Care, where he worked extensively with corporate hospitals, private healthcare institutions, laboratories, and critical care environments across India.

During this period, he witnessed the growing global adoption of Point-of-Care Testing and its ability to transform patient care. Unlike conventional diagnostic workflows that require samples to be sent to centralized laboratories, POCT enables testing to be performed at or near the patient's bedside, allowing clinicians to receive results within minutes and initiate treatment without delay.

For Sameer Shah, this was not simply a technological advancement; it represented a fundamental shift in healthcare delivery. He recognized that India's healthcare ecosystem would increasingly require decentralized diagnostic solutions capable of delivering faster results, improved efficiency, and better patient outcomes. This conviction became the driving force behind the creation of POCT Equipments.

“The company's name itself reflects this vision. POCT Equipments was deliberately named after Point-of-Care Testing because the concept lies at the heart of its mission. The organization was founded on the belief that diagnostics should move closer to the patient, reducing therapeutic turnaround times and enabling healthcare professionals to make timely clinical decisions when every minute matters”, speaks Sameer Shah, Managing Director.

POCT Equipments has developed a business model centered on these principles by working exclusively with authorized manufacturers and certified partners that adhere to internationally recognized quality standards

From Diagnostics Supplier to Integrated Healthcare Solutions Partner

Since its inception, POCT Equipments has steadily expanded its role within the diagnostics ecosystem. The company functions as an integrated solutions provider, offering rapid diagnostic kits, point-of-care testing systems, pathology analyzers, laboratory consumables, reagents, and related healthcare solutions through a structured and quality-focused supply framework.

A significant chapter in the company's growth began in 2021 when Executive Director Dr Smeet Shah joined the organization. A qualified Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS), Dr Smeet Shah initially pursued clinical practice before choosing to transition into the healthcare and diagnostics business, driven by a broader interest in advancing healthcare delivery and innovation.

Under his leadership, POCT Equipments entered a new phase of expansion. While the company initially focused primarily on pathology laboratory solutions, Dr Smeet Shah played a key role in broadening its business footprint by establishing dedicated hospital, veterinary, government, and export divisions. His efforts have helped diversify the company's operations while strengthening its presence across multiple healthcare segments.

Dr Smeet Shah's approach combines operational discipline with a forward-looking vision. By focusing on strategic partnerships, quality-certified sourcing, and market-driven ex pansion, he has helped position POCT Equipments as a comprehensive diagnostic solutions provider capable of serving diverse customer needs across domestic and international markets.

Advancing Diagnostics through Quality, Innovation, and Trust

In a sector where diagnostic accuracy directly influences patient outcomes, trust is built through consistency, quality, and regulatory compliance. POCT Equipments has developed a business model centered on these principles by working exclusively with authorized manufacturers and certified partners that adhere to internationally recognized quality standards.

“The company's commitment extends beyond product distribution. Its operational framework emphasizes disciplined sourcing, quality validation, documentation, compliance management, and continuous performance monitoring. This structured approach enables healthcare providers to access reliable diagnostic solutions while minimizing supply chain uncertainties”, shares Dr Smeet Shah, Executive Director.

At the same time, POCT Equipments remains focused on the future of diagnostics. The company closely follows developments in automation, digital diagnostics, laboratory connectivity, and AI-enabled healthcare technologies.

Both Sameer Shah and Dr Smeet Shah believe that innovation must deliver practical clinical value rather than simply introduce complexity. As a result, the organization continues to evaluate technologies that enhance efficiency, improve diagnostic accuracy, and strengthen healthcare accessibility.

A Vision Aligned with India's Diagnostics Future

Looking ahead, POCT Equipments aims to establish itself as a comprehensive diagnostic solutions platform serving the entire diagnostics value chain. The company's long-term strategy includes expanding its product portfolio, strengthening OEM and private-label initiatives, enhancing its presence across healthcare segments, and supporting the growing adoption of point-of-care testing and decentralized diagnostics.

For Sameer Shah, the future lies in making high-quality diagnostics more accessible to healthcare providers and patients alike. For Dr Smeet Shah, it is about building a future-ready organization that combines innovation, quality, and global competitiveness.

Together, their vision extends beyond business growth. It encompasses strengthening healthcare infrastructure, supporting domestic manufacturing, creating employment opportunities, and contributing to a more efficient and patient-focused healthcare ecosystem.
