Cloudnine Hospitals, one of the largest chains in India focusing on maternity and paediatric care, is in advanced talks to acquire Apollo Cradle and Children’s Hospital (ACCHL) in a deal of approximately Rs 1,500 crore, according to sources.
The Bengaluru-based chain has signed an exclusivity agreement and commenced due diligence around two weeks ago. This marks a significant milestone in what could be a landmark consolidation in India’s mother and child healthcare segment.
Apollo Cradle, a unit of Apollo Specialty Hospitals, operates approximately 363 beds across 13 hospitals in key markets including Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi-NCR, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Amritsar, and Uttar Pradesh. Apollo Cradle reported a net loss of Rs 40 lakh last fiscal year, but the network is still one of the significant players in the premium maternity and infant care space.

"Apollo Hospitals is deeply committed to the mother and child category, which remains a core element of our portfolio. We are exploring avenues to expand this category, ensuring we serve more women and children with the most advanced and compassionate healthcare available," said a spokesperson for Apollo Hospitals.
Established in 2006 by Dr. R Kishore Kumar, along with co-founders Rohit MA, M Ramachandra, and Vidya Kumar, Cloudnine Hospitals operates 40 centres under the brand Kids Clinic India. Supported by investment firms such as True North, TPG NewQuest, and Temasek, the chain has reported 25% revenue growth for FY25 at Rs 1,486 crore.
If the acquisition is successful, Cloudnine Hospitals will be India's largest integrated maternity and paediatric care network, substantially increasing its footprint and competitive position in the fast-growing healthcare space.
