Granules India delivers a robust second-quarter performance in FY27 as net profit climbs 39% to Rs 182 crore while revenue advances 20% to Rs 1,560 crore.
The Hyderabad-based pharmaceutical company posts EBITDA of around Rs 338 crore, reflecting solid operating progress even as higher input and logistics costs linked to West Asia tensions weigh on expenses.
These Granules India Q2 results test the firm’s ability to convert stronger demand into sustained earnings while it works to manage persistent cost pressures through customer discussions and operational discipline. The numbers highlight momentum, yet sequential margin compression and external cost headwinds keep the focus on execution quality.
Granules India reports revenue from operations rising 20% year-on-year to Rs 1,560 crore from Rs 1,297 crore a year earlier. Net profit jumps 39% to approximately Rs 182 crore. EBITDA grows about 21% to roughly Rs 337-338 crore, and the company expands operating margins by 100 basis points to around 22%.
Profit growth outpaces revenue expansion, signaling improved operating leverage and product contribution. Sequential performance shows muted revenue and a 100-basis-point contraction in EBITDA margins, underscoring near-term cost challenges even as the year-on-year picture remains healthy.

Higher input and logistics costs stemming from tensions in West Asia pressure the quarter’s profitability. Chairman and Managing Director Dr. Krishna Prasad Chigurupati notes that quarterly revenue crossed Rs 1,500 crore with EBITDA of Rs 338 crore despite these elevated costs.
EBITDA margins still expand year-on-year, demonstrating that operating performance and scale help absorb some of the pressure. Continued vigilance on pricing, mix and efficiency will determine whether the company protects profitability as external cost challenges continue.
Granules India ends the quarter with a net cash position of Rs 828 crore, reversing the net debt of Rs 101 crore reported in the previous quarter. This stronger balance-sheet position gives the company greater flexibility to fund growth initiatives and capacity needs.
Disciplined capital allocation remains essential so that the firm converts operational momentum into durable returns. The improved cash position reduces leverage risk and supports ongoing investments while management addresses cost inflation and regulatory observations from the recent USFDA inspection at the Gagillapur facility.
Granules India’s Q2 performance demonstrates strong earnings momentum, but sustained growth will depend on effective cost management and continued operational discipline.
