HCG Manavata Cancer Centre (HCGMCC) confirms its dedication to fighting prostate cancer, one of the most common cancers among men in India, as the globe recognizes prostate cancer awareness month this September.
Although prostate cancer is the second most common cancer among Indian men, it is quite curable if caught early. The center advises males over 50 to prioritize routine screenings and stay vigilant for any warning symptoms, or earlier if there is a family history of the condition.
Prostate cancer starts in the cells of the prostate gland, where tumor growth results from unchecked cell division. Some kinds are aggressive and spread quickly, while others grow slowly.
Erectile dysfunction, pelvic pain, blood in the urine or semen, difficulty urinating, frequent desires to urinate, and inexplicable weight loss are some of the symptoms.

“Prostate cancer often progresses silently until it reaches an advanced stage. Through this campaign, we urge men, particularly those above 50 or with a family history, to get screened and remain aware of early warning signs.
Early detection through PSA testing and regular check-ups can mean the difference between a life saved and a life lost. It is time for men to break the silence around their health and take proactive steps towards screening,” said Prof. Dr. Raj Nagarkar, Chief of Surgical Oncology & Robotic Services and Managing Director of KIMS Manavata Hospitals, HCG Manavata Cancer Centre, and Six Sigma, Nashik.
