Hilleman Laboratories, a Singapore-based joint venture between Merck and Wellcome, is preparing to manufacture doses of an experimental Ebola vaccine targeting the Bundibugyo strain linked to a fast-spreading outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The initiative focuses on ensuring sufficient vaccine supply for future clinical use and outbreak response. The collaboration aligns with ongoing global efforts to maintain readiness against Ebola outbreaks, particularly in regions with recurring cases.
The effort has secured up to USD 8.5 million in funding from the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI).
