The Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India (Pharmexcil) recently held a crucial meeting with the NICDC Logistics Data Services Limited (NLDSL) to launch Logistics e-Marketplace (LeMP) and a new under-development portal search engine regarding export and import regulations, called the "Exim Rules Engine." This is a significant step to streamline pharmaceutical exports and improve regulatory clarity.
Users will be able to look up any 8-digit HSN code and obtain detailed information about it, such as the structure of duties and taxes, policy and licensing requirements, documentation and compliance requirements, approvals from other government agencies, export benefits, and eligibility for duty drawbacks.
The future LeMP is intended to serve as a centralized platform that allows exporters to schedule services, communicate with verified logistics service providers, and fully transparently track the movement of shipments from start to finish.

“Pharmexcil dialogue with NLDSL on the LeMP reflected its commitment to modernizing supply chains through digital transformation and real-time transparency,” said K Raja Bhanu, director general, Pharmexcil.
Pharmexcil emphasized the necessity of industry-specific logistics solutions, particularly for high-compliance and temperature-sensitive goods like APIs, injectables, and vaccines. Both parties concurred that a digitally integrated platform will improve last-mile delivery for pharmaceutical consignments, increase cargo visibility, and drastically cut down on transaction time.
