The Punjab government is rapidly improving Healthcare Scheme Access through the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna, with ASHA workers taking the lead in enrolments across the state.
Over 19,000 ASHA workers and 900 facilitators are reaching households directly, ensuring that families understand and register for the scheme.
Each ASHA worker covers around 1,000 residents across 250 households, conducting door-to-door outreach, raising awareness about the scheme, and guiding families to Seva Kendras and Common Service Centres for smooth enrolment. This model ensures that even rural households are informed and can register without confusion or delay.

The results are already visible. Nearly 10 lakh residents have enrolled in just 20 days due to the ASHA-led initiative. To maintain momentum, workers receive structured incentives for successful enrolments, guaranteeing consistent outreach across districts.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Balbir Singh said: "Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has made it clear that in Punjab, no family should have to suffer because they cannot afford treatment. Our ASHA workers are taking this promise to people's homes, ensuring that every family is aware and able to enroll.
“This is not just a scheme on paper; it is a guarantee we are delivering directly to people, one household at a time," he said.
The Healthcare Scheme Access is further strengthened as Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna issues over 35 lakh Sehat Cards, with roughly 50,000 new enrolments daily. Districts like Ludhiana, Patiala, and Jalandhar are leading in registrations.
The scheme has delivered more than two lakh treatments worth Rs 300 crore, including major surgeries in cardiac care, dialysis, orthopedics, and cancer treatment. With a Rs 2,000 crore allocation in the 2026-27 budget, Punjab aims to expand health coverage and make cashless treatment available to every family.
