Abbott Unveils New Ensure Diabetes Care Formula in India

Abbott has introduced an improved brand of its India Diabetes Care form of the brand, Sure, focusing on science-based nutrition to individuals with diabetes.

Today, the launch was announced, and is based on the results of more than 30 years of research and over 60 clinical studies, which further defined Abbott as a leader in specialized medical nutrition.

The new formula provides a triple-care system, which comprises essential nutrients. It has four times the amount of myoinositol and low-glycaemic-index carbohydrate blend that helps minimize blood-sugar spikes.

Blends with high content of protein and fiber too allow the management of glucose, reduction of cholesterol, and weight loss. The combination secures lean muscle in weight reduction and eliminates the bad visceral fat, which is associated with heart disease, type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure.

It is hard to control nutrition and blood sugar. Agnes Siew Ling Tey, senior lead for clinical science and nutrition at Abbott’s Asia Pacific R&D centre, said: Diabetes specific nutritional formula is a cornerstone of diabetes management. It has been clinically proven to play a key role in improving glycaemic control, cardiometabolic risk and weight management. Is it a potent tool to improve long-term health outcomes in individuals with diabetes, when incorporated in lifestyle interventions.
