Marksans Pharma has taken another step to expand its Europe presence by signing a deal to acquire Germany-based ABCnow GmbH.
The Germany deal is aimed at strengthening the company's position in one of Europe's biggest pharmaceutical markets and building a stronger direct sales network.
The move comes as Marksans Pharma continues to grow its international business beyond manufacturing by increasing its presence in key overseas markets.
The acquisition will be completed through an all-cash transaction worth 892,384 euros, or around Rs 9 crore. According to the company, the deal is expected to close by July 31, 2026, subject to customary closing conditions.
ABCnow GmbH is headquartered in Flensburg, Germany, and is engaged in the marketing and distribution of OTC products. The company reported a turnover of 227,233.69 euros for the financial year ended 2025.
With this acquisition, Marksans Pharma will gain a ready platform to directly market and distribute its products in Germany. The company currently manufactures products in India, the UK, and the US. Having a local distribution business is expected to improve market access and strengthen customer relationships across Europe.
The company said the transaction does not require any regulatory approvals and will be completed after meeting standard closing conditions.

The latest move reflects Marksans Pharma's strategy of building a direct commercial presence in Europe instead of relying only on third-party distributors.
