India, Russia Explore New Avenues in Pharma, Healthcare

JP Nadda, Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare and Chemicals & Fertilizers, had a one-on-one discussion with H.E. Dmitry Nikolaevich Patrushev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, at Nirman Bhavan, New Delhi.

The Russian delegation was led by officials from the government and included prominent representatives from leading fertilizer companies, while the Indian side was represented by the top bureaucrats of the Department of Fertilizers, Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Ministry of External Affairs, and CMDs/MDs of major fertilizer enterprises.

They talked about the recurring theme issue of the range from the sectors of fertilizers, chemicals, pharmaceutical healthcare, and other areas of mutual interest. In the discussions, the two sides reached out to each other on the points of deepening bilateral ties, transport chain security, and mapping out the investments and joint ventures which could be possible.

Minister Nadda conveyed that India is focusing on building strong partnerships with fertilizers and chemicals, which is the need of the hour concerning food and energy security, and also that the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors are on the path of global collaboration and are bound to grow. Deputy Prime Minister Patrushev stated that Russia will be going to such great lengths to be a strategic partner with India, putting the cooperation potential for sustainable industries under the spotlight.

This meeting was a great step towards the reinforcement of the India-Russia strategic partnership. Both sides expressed their intention to partner closely in the areas of building resilient supply chains, promoting innovation, and implementing joint projects in the fields of fertilizers, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and healthcare with mutual benefit.
